WASHINGTON — As colder temperatures move in the District, Mayor Muriel Bowser issued a cold alert ahead of dropping temperatures on Tuesday.
From 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11. Overnight temperatures are expected to drop to 20°F or colder with wind chill or participation.
If residents are in need of shelter or other assistance during this time, visit cold.dc.gov , call the Shelter Hotline at 202-399-7093, or dial 311.
Residents are also encouraged to keep safe by:
Stay indoors or in warm, heated places.
Check on your neighbors, especially seniors, children, and those with disabilities or other access and functional needs.
Call the Brandywine Valley SPCA at 202-888-7387 for all animal emergencies, including animals left outside in extreme temperatures.
