Veterans Day is this Tuesday, with a pair of parades and a fun run to mark the occasion. It's also a day off for government employees and local students.

And after that, it's a race to the holiday season.

Two Christmas favorites (namely, the Polar Express and "A Christmas Carol") will have their season debuts this Friday, with four variations on Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” to follow over the next few weeks.
