And that is what the killers of missing Calgary woman Anna Sylvia Just were counting on.
For more than 50 years, it stayed that way.
But on Friday, homicide detectives in Sin City announced that after using DNA provided by her sister, they f inally identified whose remains were discovered in 1970.
Anna Sylvia Just, then 29, was not the first person to vanish in Vegas, nor would she be the last. Some chancers take a long look at their lives and decide to start fresh under the desert sun. Kentucky, New York, Texas, and Ohio are left in the dust.
