CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Ore. (KPTV) - An arson suspect is recovering in a hospital after he was shot by a deputy near Sandy on Sunday night, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office.
At about 9:45 p.m., deputies were called out to an arson on Southeast 362nd Avenue, near Southeast Dee Zee Court. The sheriff’s office said a 911 caller reported that his 44-year-old son had set a utility trailer on fire.
A deputy, along with an Oregon State Police trooper, found the suspect just before 10 p.m. The sheriff’s office says a shooting occurred and the suspect was shot by the deputy.
The suspect, who has not yet been identified, was taken to an area hospital where he is said to be stable. The deputy and the trooper were not hurt.
