SANDERSVILLE, Ga. — A car crash in Washington County left a woman dead and the driver hurt Sunday night, according to Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran.
Cochran says that 51-year-old Samantha Zimerla of Harrison, Georgia, was killed after being thrown from the vehicle during the crash. She was the passenger in the vehicle.
It happened on the Fall Line Freeway near Memorial Garden Cemetery, and the sheriff's office was notified at around 5:15 p.m., Cochran said.
Deputies determined that the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn multiple times, Cochran said.
He says the driver, a 34-year-old woman from Sandersville, was taken to the Washington County Medical Center for treatment.
But he say the victim only suffered minor injuries.
This is a developing story. 13WMAZ
