SHIVAMOGGA: A law student reportedly received a threatening call from an anonymous person who objected to him using a photo of Veer Savarkar as his WhatsApp display picture (DP). The incident occurred on November 6 and the student was even threatened of life.

Chandan H, in his complaint to the police, said the caller introduced himself as Praveen, used abusive language and asked him to remove Savarkar’s photo from his display pictue. When Chandan refused, the caller threatened him, saying “Savarkar licked the boots of the British and was no freedom fighter. I am also a Hindu, take down the picture”.
