NORWALK, CT (WFSB) - A man was arrested for using a commercial boat to illegally harvest shellfish off the coast of Norwalk, police announced.

Police said they charged 61-year-old Michael Oravez with second-degree larceny and violation of shellfish regulations.

Oravez turned himself in on Friday.

They said they launched their investigation on Oct. 27 following a complaint from a concerned individual.

The complaint reported that a large commercial shellfishing vessel was suspected of illegally harvesting shellfish along the City of Norwalk Recreational Shellfishing Beds.

Marine officers responded and found the boat.
