The Fire Department of the City of New York Commissioner Robert S. Tucker on Sunday said that Patrick Brady, a 42-year-old firefighter that worked in a Brownsville firehouse, died after fighting a fire in East Flatbush.
The FDNY held a bunting ceremony outside Ladder 120 on Sunday to mourn and honor Brady's life.
Brady, who served for 11 years, was operating on the roof of a fire at 9407 Kings Hgwy on Saturday when he went into cardiac arrest. He was taken to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center where he passed away, according to Tucker.
Brady was appointed to the FDNY on July 14, 2014. After graduating from the Fire Academy, he was assigned to Engine 227 in Crown Heights, before transferring to Ladder 120 in 2022.
He is a Belle Harbor resident in the Rockaway section of Queens
