New Delhi: A massive explosion near the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi on Monday evening caused panic in the area, leaving eight dead and several others injured. The blast, which took place close to Gate No. 1 of the station, triggered a large fire that spread to nearby vehicles, prompting authorities to declare a high alert across the capital.
According to officials, the explosion occurred inside a parked car around 6:30 p.m. Local residents and commuters reported hearing a loud bang followed by thick smoke and flames. Firefighters rushed to the scene, deploying seven fire tenders to control the blaze. Several vehicles parked near the site were completely destroyed in the fire.
