A high-intensity explosion inside a parked car near Lal Qila Metro Station triggers nationwide security escalation

A powerful explosion near Gate No. 1 of Delhi’s Red Fort (Lal Qila) Metro Station on Monday evening left eight people dead and at least 24 others injured, sending shockwaves across the national capital and prompting heightened security in multiple states.

The blast occurred in a parked car in one of the most crowded parts of Old Delhi, close to Chandni Chowk and a key entry point used by thousands of daily commuters and tourists. The impact was so severe that three to four nearby vehicles caught fire, and visuals from the scene showed charred metal, shattered windows, and debris scattered across the road.
