MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) -- The local chapter of the Disabled American Veterans has been providing assistance to veterans along the Grand Strand for nearly seven decades.

The chapter, founded in Myrtle Beach 1956, focuses on helping disabled veterans file claims and get much-needed resources.

Currently, there are more than 400 members living in the area, and the local group has than 1,000 members. Nationally, the DAV has more than 1.2 million members.
