JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) - There is a high risk for wildfires in Mississippi on November 10, 2025, according to the Mississippi Forestry Commission (MFC).

"We are urging all Mississippians to voluntarily stop all plans of outdoor burning on Monday due to conditions that are highly favorable for rapid wildfire spread. Low humidity and high winds are the concern," the MFC said.

Officials said Mississippians should avoid debris burning, campfires, bonfires, fire pits and burning of leaves or brush.

According to the MFC, nine out of 10 wildfires are caused by humans. Mississippians are encouraged to wait until conditions improve for outdoor burning.
