A Ronald Reagan-appointed federal judge in Massachusetts has resigned from the lifetime position so he can speak out against what he believes are abject derelictions of duty and abuses of power within the Trump administration .

Senior U.S. District Judge Mark L. Wolfe, who was nominated in 1985, said he formally resigned from the role he "loved" on Friday because he can "no longer bear to be restrained by what judges can say publicly or do outside the courtroom."
