Emergency services are currently on the scene of a serious incident in the St Ann's area of Nottingham, where a man has died following a stabbing. The attack occurred around 12.50pm today, prompting a swift response from police and medical teams.

Nottinghamshire Police have cordoned off Abbotsford Drive as they investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack. A 20-year-old man was found with multiple stab wounds and, despite the efforts of paramedics, he died shortly after emergency services arrived.

In a statement, Nottinghamshire Police confirmed, "Detectives have launched a murder investigation after a 20-year-old man has died following a stabbing in St Ann’s. We were called to Abbotsford Drive at around 12.50pm today after a man was found with stab wounds."

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward, emphasising that any information, no matter how small, could be crucial to their investigation. Chief Superintendent Nick Waldram expressed condolences to the victim's family, stating, "Our thoughts remain with the man’s family during this incredibly difficult time. They are being supported by specially trained officers."

Waldram added, "Detectives are already working to understand exactly what happened in the moments before, during and after this incident. We want to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything which could assist our inquiries."

Local residents are understandably concerned, but police believe this to be an isolated incident with no wider risk to the public. To reassure the community, patrols in the area will be increased as investigations continue.

A spokesperson for East Midlands Ambulance Service reported that they received a call at 12.51pm and dispatched multiple resources, including a paramedic, a doctor, and two ambulances. All emergency personnel have since left the scene.

Forensic officers have been seen focusing their efforts on an alleyway adjacent to the overpass on Abbotsford Drive, where a tarpaulin has been erected outside a property at the entrance of the alleyway.
