Politicians packed a city hall boardroom for a rare meeting between council and all four Windsor members of provincial and federal Parliament on Monday.

City council, which has been working for months to assemble the senior government representatives, sat down with MPP Andrew Dowie (PC — Windsor-Tecumseh), MPP Lisa Gretzky (NDP — Windsor West), MP Kathy Borrelli (C — Windsor-Tecumseh-Lakeshore), and MP Harb Gill (C — Windsor West) at 8 a.m.

Such a meeting hasn’t occurred at city hall since 2006 or 2007, when discussions about the Herb Gray Parkway were underway, according to council’s longest-serving member, Jo-Anne Gignac.

“Today is meant to be a productive and positive conversation,” said Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens to kick off the roundtable discussion.
