The Indian Naval Ship INS Savitri, an Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV), arrived in Port Beira on Monday as part of its ongoing deployment in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR), the Ministry of Defence said.
The vessel received a ceremonial welcome from Mozambique Navy personnel, reflecting longstanding maritime cooperation between the two countries.
During the visit, naval personnel from both sides will participate in joint training exercises, including navigation, Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) surveillance, VBSS drills, damage control, and firefighting, the defence ministry said.
INS Savitri will also engage in community outreach, welcoming visitors onboard to showcase operational capabilities and conducting a medical camp for the local population.
