TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - The Pima County Sheriff's Department has announced that skeletal remains located on the northside of Tucson have been identified.
On Oct. 29, skeletal remains were discovered in the desert area near the 5100 block of North Swan Road, according to PCSD.
Deputies confirmed the remains as human, and the Homicide Unit is now leading the investigation.
The Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner identified the remains as 77-year-old Thomas Rueter. His next of kin has been notified.
The circumstances surrounding Rueter's death are still under investigation. The Sheriff’s Department has not released further details.
Anyone with information that could aid the investigation is urged to contact PCSD or submit an anonymous tip through 88-CRIME.
