JACKSON — A 56-year-old Jackson woman was arrested Saturday after authorities said she struck and killed a man while driving under the influence.

The Jackson Police Department responded around 11 a.m. to reports of a crash on Highway 80 near Ellis Avenue involving a white GMC Envoy. Officers determined the driver, Monica Magee, was intoxicated at the time of the collision.

The victim, a 56-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner recovered the body, and notification of next of kin is pending.

Magee was taken into custody and charged with aggravated DUI causing death.
