OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The man arrested after an Omaha police officer was shot in the head at a gas station had his preliminary hearing Monday morning.
Shedrick Mills , 36, will have his case go to district court for trial.
Mills is facing charges of attempted second degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony. He is being held on a $3 million bond.
Prosecutors asked that one of the initial charges, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, be dropped, and the judge obliged. Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine explained to First Alert 6 that the charge was dropped because Mills was technically not a felon.
The shooting happened early on the morning of Oct. 6 at the Quik Trip near 120th Street and West Dodge Road. The suspect ran off but was found just before 7 a.m. at t
