MANCHESTER, N.H. —

With an agreement reached in the U.S. Senate on a deal that could end the government shutdown, Republican leaders in New Hampshire are calling for it to end as soon as possible.

Gov. Kelly Ayotte said she cannot believe the government has been shut down for 40 days.

Ayotte told WMUR the government needs to be back open for people who receive SNAP benefits, have disabilities or get any support from the government.

Ayotte said her focus is on taking care of Granite Staters and ensuring that no one goes hungry.

Despite the Trump administration's threat to undo November funding, right now Granite Staters' SNAP accounts are fully funded. That happened over the weekend .
