Flight cancellations at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport tallied 49 on Monday morning, day four of the Federal Aviation Administration’s order to reduce flights at major airports due to the partial government shutdown.
There were 45 cancellations on Sunday, 33 on Saturday and 29 on Friday, according to airport spokesperson Perry Cooper.
Previous stories tallied higher figures using FlightAware, a company that tracks flight delays and cancellations. Cooper said the data tracker likely double-counts flights, especially with SkyWest, which partners with United, Delta, American and Alaska airlines.
Thousands of flights have been canceled across the country in recent days while air traffic controllers and Transportation Security Administration employees have been working without pay
