PHOENIX (KVOA) - Attorney General Mayes has secured a temporary court order blocking the Trump administration's efforts to reclaim Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, according to a press release. This decision comes after Mayes and 24 other attorneys general and governors filed an emergency motion following a directive to states to "immediately undo" the release of SNAP benefits.
In an unexpected move, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) labeled the release of full November benefits as "unauthorized," despite earlier guidance indicating full funding would soon be available. Some states, including New York, had already begun issuing these benefits.
Judge Talwani's order grants the temporary restraining order requested by the states.
