CLEVELAND — Thirty-two years on since its first performances in London and Edinburgh, "STOMP" is still going strong -- and it's coming to Akron next year in partnership with Playhouse Square.
The enduring "junk percussion" theatre piece with roots in the U.K. fringe scene is parking its international tour at the University of Akron's E.J. Thomas Hall on April 22 and 23, 2026.
"STOMP" began as a street performance conceived by Edinburgh Festival performers Steve McNicholas and Luke Cresswell and has reached more than 26 million audience members worldwide over more than three decades, both on stage and through various television performances including a 1997 HBO special.
