This year’s Vancouver Arts & Music Festival was named the Southwest Washington Event of the Year by the state’s festivals and events association.
The free, four-day festival in Vancouver’s Esther Short Park has occurred every summer for the past three years. The festival also won Best PR/Media Campaign at the Washington Festivals and Events Association’s Grand Summit awards ceremony Oct. 30 in Bellevue. This year, more than 50,000 people attended the festival, according to the city of Vancouver’s news release.
The city and Vancouver Symphony Orchestra partnered to produce the event, which showcases many performances and vendors and celebrates music, dance, and visual arts with local and regional artists. The festival generated about $1.6 million in business sales, the news release stat
