EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Michigan State head football coach Jonathan Smith held his weekly press conference on Monday ahead of the Spartans’ home game vs. Penn State this Saturday.

Both teams enter the game seeking their first conference win of the season and first win since Sept. 13, when MSU beat Youngstown State and Penn State beat Villanova.

Both teams followed those wins up by losing their first six games in Big Ten play. Penn State fired head coach James Franklin on Oct. 12 after a loss to Northwestern.

Both teams also came very close to snapping their losing streaks in their most recent game.
