The New York Giants have fired head coach Brian Daboll one day after his team coughed up a double-digit lead over the Chicago Bears.
Multiple reports emerged Monday that the Giants had opted to fire Daboll, who won Associated Press Coach of the Year honors in his first season with the team in 2022, but has struggled since.
The team named assistant coach and offensive coordinator Mike Kafka as their interim head coach, according to multiple reports.
"The past few seasons have been nothing short of disappointing, and we have not met our expectations for this franchise. We understand the frustrations of our fans, and we will work to deliver a significantly improved product," Giants co-owner John Mara and President Steve Tisch said in a statement.
