Joe Burrow is back on the practice field .
The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback participated in the team's Monday session in a limited capacity, with his 21-day practice window officially opening .
Burrow now has three weeks to ramp up and be activated from injured reserve. He was placed on IR nearly two months ago on Sept. 16 when he suffered torn ligaments in his toe in Week 2.
Initial reports suggested that Burrow was expected to miss at least three months (which would mean a mid-December return), but his return to practice shows that he could be ahead of schedule.
Cincinnati can activate Burrow to the 53-man roster at any point during the 21-day window, but he will be out for the season if he isn't activated in the next three weeks .
