While many people took to grumbling, one Newberry County resident decided to gather support to provide free meals to those in need. Antony Caldwell was tired of the negativity he saw on social media, he thought to himself about what he could offer.
Caldwell contacted some friends and after some brainstorming they decided they could put together some simple, Thanksgiving meal staples for 10 people. However, after receiving donations they currently have enough for 30 meal kits.
The idea stemmed from when Caldwell would always volunteer with Cooperative Health Ministries around the holidays. While that organization isn’t doing it this year due to budget cuts, there are many individuals or groups coming together to help those whose SNAP benefits have been cut or for those who are just strugg
