ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WSPA/WNCN) - The PGA Tour announced on Monday it will return to Asheville next year.

The PGA Tour, Biltmore Estate and Explore Asheville revealed that a new PGA tournament, the Biltmore Championship in Asheville, is slated to debut in 2026 during the FedEx Cup Fall.

The tournament, which marks the first PGA event in Asheville since 1942, will be held from Sept. 17 through Sept. 20 at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove.

It is the first of a four-year agreement where Biltmore Estate and Explore Asheville will be co-title sponsors for PGA Tour events in Asheville.

The tournament is expected to bring more than 100 players and thousands of spectators to the course.
