Starbucks fans might be a little disappointed that they couldn't get their hands on the viral "Bearista" cup, but some people online are taking matters into their own hands and DIYing it themselves.
The lack of stock at Starbucks has not stopped creators online from finding alternative bottles and DIYs to the viral holiday sensation.
Videos show creators filling bear-shaped cups with their morning iced coffees. Some people are even joking online that they opted to empty a bear-shaped bottle of honey to create a dupe of the bear cup, while others are offering tips on where to find bear and other holiday-shaped bottles.
So, if you missed your chance to get the "Bearista" cup, there's no need to opt to pay hundreds to resellers online. Here's how you can make your own.
How can you DIY a 'Bearista' cup?
Creators, like Jack Jerry on TikTok, took a trip to HomeGoods to create his dupe.
The online creator purchased two bottles, one shaped like a gingerbread man and another like a teddy bear. The bottles were filled with candy and sprinkles, but after emptying them out, Jerry was able to fill them with his drink of choice.
Content creator Alexandra Wroten posted a video to TikTok, where she decided to reuse an empty bottle of Kirkland honey that was shaped like a bear, added a drawing of the Starbucks logo, and added it to her coffee.
Regardless of how you make your own bear cup, make sure the container you use is food-safe if you plan to store food or beverages in it.
'Bearista' cup dupes in stores, online
If you're not into DIY, you can just buy a dupe. Other creators have pointed toward Target's "Kids' 13oz Figural Gingerbread Tumbler" as a dupe for the "Bearista" cup. It's made from plastic, comes in brown and pink, and retails for $5.
Other creators have also reported finding bear cup dupes on Amazon, Walmart, TJ Maxx, Marshalls and at other retailers.
What is the 'Bearista' cup?
The "Bearista" cup is a 20-ounce glass cup shaped like a bear. Its lid looks like a green beanie, and it is holding a Starbucks cup with the chain's logo on it.
The cup was released on Thursday, Nov. 6, the same day that Starbucks unveiled its holiday menu, and sold out immediately.
Now, the cups are reselling online for hundreds of dollars, USA TODAY previously reported.
Will the 'Bearista' cup be restocked?
In a statement, the chain confirmed that the "Bearista" cup sold out.
"The excitement for our merchandise exceeded even our biggest expectations, and despite shipping more Bearista cups to coffeehouses than almost any other merchandise item this holiday season, the Bearista cup and some other items sold out fast," Starbucks said.
USA TODAY has requested more information from Starbucks, but it is unclear whether the coffee chain will restock the viral cups.
