DENVER (KDVR) — Some Coloradans are celebrating Monday after the Supreme Court decided to not take up an effort to overturn its ruling guaranteeing same-sex marriage nationwide.

Former Kentucky county clerk Kim Davis had directly asked the justices to overrule the 2015 landmark decision Obergefell v. Hodges, which awarded damages to a couple she had refused to marry and effectively legalized same-sex marriage across the country.

Supporters of the decision celebrated its 10-year anniversary in June, and Coloradans on Monday again celebrated after the Supreme Court rejected Davis' bid to revisit the ruling.
