ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - President Donald Trump has pardoned the alternate electors who were allegedly involved in plans to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential elections, including all of the defendants charged by Fulton County DA Fani Willis in her historic 2021 election interference indictment.

On Monday, Ed Martin, a special U.S. Department of Justice attorney, announced on X/Twitter that former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, and others had been pardoned by the president.

The pardons only apply to federal charges.
