Lake Havasu City Republican and former Arizona GOP Chair Kelli Ward, as well as more than a dozen codefendants, are still expected to stand trial next year in an alleged conspiracy to overturn the 2020 Presidential Election despite a presidential pardon.

The Arizona Attorney General’s Office has yet to issue an official response in reference to that pardon, but in a brief statement to Today’s News-Herald on Monday, AG’s officials indicated that this week’s pardon from President Trump would have no bearing on Arizona criminal proceedings against the alleged perpetrators in the state’s “fake electors” scandal. ×
