A 98-year-old man who was hit by a car while crossing a Long Island roadway has died a week later.

Nathaniel Adams, of Roosevelt, was struck around 9:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, while crossing Nassau Road near West Fulton Avenue, according to Nassau County Police. It happened just outside the Roosevelt Public Library.

Detectives said he was hit by a 2005 Chrysler driven by a 25-year-old man who remained at the scene.

Adams suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead after several days in critical condition, police revealed Monday, Nov. 10.

No further details about the driver, possible charges, or contributing factors were released. Detectives said the investigation remains ongoing.
