Company considering building nuclear reactors in Pike County

PIKE CO., Ind. (WFIE) - A company is looking into the possibility of building nuclear small modular reactors in Pike County.

AES Indiana says they are launching a nuclear feasibility study at their Petersburg and Eagle Valley Generating Stations.

This study will help them evaluate the long-term potential of those reactors as a way to drive investment, innovation and job creation in the state.

The company says they also welcomed Governor Mike Braun to the Petersburg site, where he “saw how AES Indiana is investing in the future.”
