MADISON, Wis. -- Get a shock win over a ranked team, get honored by the Big Ten. That seems like a fair deal, right?
The Badgers saw two players pick up honors from the conference this week after upsetting No. 23 Washington at Camp Randall Stadium on Saturday. Freshman linebacker Cooper Catalano was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week and linebacker Mason Posa was named Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week.
Catalano was a forced to be reckoned with on Saturday with 19 tackles and a sack. He became the first Badger since at least 1995 to tally that stat line in a game and the first Big Ten player to do so since Blake Cashman in 2018.
He also tallied the most tackles for a freshman nationally since New Mexico's AJ Haulcy got 24 in 2022. Catalano is the second Badger to win Defensive Pla
