CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — The Harrison County Board of Education met at noon on Monday for a quick special meeting to discuss beginning the process of auctioning Washington Irving Middle School and North View Elementary School through Kaufman realty and auctions.

Board members passed the motion to proceed with auctioning the Washington Irving and North View properties with a 4-1 vote. All board members present voting yes, besides Dr. Jenny Santilli, who commented on her vote against the measure.

"I really understand all the yes votes and the fiscal realities of this situation, I voted no because, really in my heart I had hoped we would have been able to work with the city of Clarksburg," she said. "And so that's why I voted no."
