BROCKLAND -- A jury is deliberating on the trial of a man charged with manslaughter in the death of his toddler.

Closing arguments were heard today in the trial of 23-year-old Aziayh Scott.

Scott was extradited to Maine from Louisiana after 22-month-old Quayshawn Wilson was found unresponsive in a Walmart parking lot in Thomaston in May 2024.

An autopsy determined Wilson's cause of death was blunt force trauma, and the manner of death was ruled homicide.

Scott, who is originally from Louisiana, had recently moved to Maine and was living with his girlfriend and the child in Owls Head at the time of Wilson's death.
