EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry announced the recipients of the Forward Together grants, established last year to support local nonprofit organizations.
A total of 15 organizations received $500,000 in grant funds to aid programs in home weatherization, food access, services for people experiencing homelessness, and literacy.
Applications for the grants were open to organizations seeking up to $35,000, with 45 applicants in total. The funding comes from interest on American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, pending approval from the City Council at tonight’s meeting.
Mayor Terry emphasized the importance of these grants.
