DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (WEVV) — Firefighters from multiple departments responded to a significant structure fire on Reid Road on Sunday afternoon.
The Daviess County Fire Department, along with the Thruston-Philpot and Yelvington Fire Departments, arrived to find smoke and flames coming from the roof's center point.
"Unit 331 made entry through the garage, finding fire coming through the ceiling and began to apply water into attic," the fire department said.
Due to high winds and insufficient water supply, the fire quickly engulfed the home, prompting a defensive attack strategy.
Crews remained on the scene for about eight hours to fully extinguish the blaze.
