Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman today announced that he is opening the county’s temporary warming space due to freezing temperatures that are expected overnight heading into Tuesday. The National Weather Service issued a Freeze Warning as part of a Severe Weather Alert that covers areas of Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York – including Nassau County. Experts said sub-freezing temperatures between 30 degrees and 32 degrees are expected between 1 a.m. and 9 a.m. "Nassau County is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents during extreme weather conditions.
