FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – A 20-year-old Wisconsin man accused of attempting to burn down a congressman’s office in protest of the federal TikTok ban pleaded no contest and was found guilty on Monday.
Caiden Stachowicz entered a no contest plea and was convicted of arson of a building without the owner’s consent, a felony charge. Other charges, including attempted burglary and criminal damage to property, were dismissed as part of the plea deal but will be read in at sentencing.
According to court documents, officers responded to a fire outside Congressman Glenn Grothman’s Fond du Lac office at approximately 1 a.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2025.
