CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Here’s a look at this week’s KCRG-TV9 Athlete of the Week volleyball nominees. They include Quinn Sweeney, Channing Johnson and Averie Lower.

Quinn Sweeney, a Janesville freshman, had 35 kills in the state tournament, helping the Wildcats reach the state finals. She was named to the all-tournament team. This season, she led her team in kills, hitting percentage and blocks.

Denver’s Channing Johnson finished the season leading the state in assists. In the state tournament, she had a “triple-double” in the semifinals against Grundy Center, with 11 kills, 43 kills and 14 digs. She was named captain of the all-tournament team after her Cyclones won their second straight state championship.
