LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - A Lufkin intersection has been reopened after emergency personnel investigated a train fire.
According to the Lufkin Police Department, firefighters responded to a fire on a Union Pacific train engine around 12:50 p.m. Monday.
The intersection of Abney and Angelina Street was closed to let investigators examine the train.
According to Union Pacifice the locomotive that was on fire was located in the middle of the train and there were no injuries.
The cause of the fire currently remains unknown.
