LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - The South Texas Food Bank (STFB) continues to seek donations from the community as it helps people waiting to receive their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.

Congressman Henry Cuellar said in a statement that if the current agreement passes, full SNAP benefits are expected to be paid out for November.

“If the continuing resolution for November passes, we expect full SNAP benefits to be paid out for the month. The agreement would reopen the government and extend funding through January 30, which means SNAP would continue to be fully funded through September. This would ensure that families who rely on these benefits receive support.”
