PHOENIX — Veterans Day events are being planned throughout the Valley to pay tribute to those who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

If you would like to participate and honor Valley veterans, here are some of the events taking place:

Phoenix Veterans Day Parade:

The Phoenix Veterans Day Parade started in 1997 as a way for the community to celebrate the service of those in uniform. The parade takes place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11.

The parade starts heading south on Central Avenue from Montebello. Central Avenue will be closed from Bethany Home Road to Missouri starting at 7:30 a.m.

The parade route ends near 7th Street and Indian School Road.

East Valley Veterans Day Parade:

The City of Mesa will be honoring veterans with a parade on Tuesday morning.
