LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- The man who hit and killed an 18-year-old Las Vegas high school senior earlier this year could spend up to two decades behind bars.
On Monday, Clark County District Court Judge Mary Kay Holthus sentenced 37-year-old Keenan Jackson to 8-20 years in prison, with 190 days' credit for time served.
Jackson was driving under the influence when he hit McKenzie Scott on May 2 near Buffalo Drive, just steps away from Arbor View High School. Scott was set to graduate within days of the crash.
According to his arrest report, Jackson’s preliminary breath test registered a blood-alcohol level of 0.29, more than three times Nevada’s legal limit of 0.08.
