A 21-year-old man from Virginia is behind bars after deputies say he attacked multiple officers while drunk in Stafford County.

Deputies were called to Edwards Drive around 4:16 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 9, for a report of a disturbance involving a man who showed up intoxicated and refused to leave, according to the sheriff's office.

The suspect, later identified as Bradlee Sheedy, was found walking along Deacon Road by a sergeant, who said Sheedy was showing “clear signs of intoxication.”

When deputies tried to take him into custody, Sheedy allegedly resisted arrest — and things only got worse once he reached the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

According to the sheriff’s office, Sheedy struck several deputies while “still actively resisting.”

Sheedy was charged with:

  • Four counts of assault and battery on law enforcement;
  • Four counts of obstruction of justice;
  • Providing false identification to law enforcement;
  • Public intoxication.

He was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
