On the eve of a murder trial for last year's slaying of a French Quarter tour guide, three young men pleaded guilty in New Orleans on Monday to lesser charges and received decades-long prison sentences.
Kristie Thibodeaux , 43, of Chalmette, was found shot inside her car on St. Peter Street and pronounced dead in June 2024. Authorities said she was the victim of an armed robbery spree that turned deadly when the three suspects stopped near St. Peter and Royal streets.
Kevin Nunez, who was 15 at the time, got out of a car and tried to rob Thibodeaux before shooting her, authorities alleged. Joshua Bonifacio, 20, was driving the vehicle, while Jerben Albarec, now 18, occupied the back seat.
