TEMPE, Ariz. — The practices are rigorous and ruthless, and they have the Arizona State women's basketball team out of breath.

Still, it's a breath of fresh air.

When the Sun Devils finish practice with their exhausting conditioning drills, they aren't just running lines. They are tracing a lineage.

This is a program that was once in need of a rebrand. It's now getting an assist from one of basketball's biggest brands.

"My last name isn't Smith, you know," Abi Olajuwon said. "It's Olajuwon."

Abi Olajuwon is the daughter of Hakeem, a longtime center for the Houston Rockets. Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon is an NBA Hall of Famer.

His daughter has carved out a successful career in basketball as well.
